The company’s story of success has started more than 50 years ago with the invention of TetraMin – the most frequently sold food flakes for tropical fish. In that way, the founder of the company, Dr. rer. nat. Ulrich Baensch, revolutionized the until then quite rare and difficult hobby aquatics.
Since that time Tetra is continuously expanding its range and is considerably contributing to the aquatic market by developing innovative products such as Tetra EasyBalance and Tetra AquaSafe. But besides the high product quality aquarists also appreciate Tetra's economical, environmental and social commitment.
Today, the Tetra group employs over 700 colleagues, has representatives in more than 90 countries worldwide and is the largest manufacturer of aquaristic and pond products in the world. It supplies fish keepers and pond owners with a complete range of products such as food, water conditioners and plant conditioners, technical equipment and medicinal products.
