Record number of visitors at Interzoo 2010: International Trade Fair for Pet Supplies confirms its leading position in the industry. The exhibitors and the exhibition promoter Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF) were extremely pleased with the results at the end of the 31st Interzoo in Nurnberg on Sunday, 16 May 2010. With 4 percent more exhibitors and 3 percent more trade visitors from 117 countries compared with 2008, the International Trade Fair for Pet Supplies has impressively confirmed its claim to leadership as the most important international ordering platform for the global pet industry.Altogether more than 38,000 trade visitors sourced information on pet food, grooming aids, accessories and services. "This result has exceeded our expectations. The excellent talks on the highly frequented stands and the high quality of the visitors from the trade ensured a good mood among exhibitors and visitors," says Herbert Bollhofer, Managing Director of the exhibition promoter WZF GmbH. 1,502 companies from 53 countries presented their innovations and trends for four-legged pets, ornamental birds, fish and reptiles for the four days of the exhibition on a record gross display area of over 90,000 square metres. The internationality of the exhibitors rose from 77 to 79 per cent. Besides Germany, the most exhibitors came from China, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain, the USA, France, Belgium, Spain and Poland. "The overwhelming majority of the exhibitors were very satisfied with the ordering activity of the visitors. The companies report many new contacts and successful business transactions," says Hans-Jochen Bungener, Chairman of the Interzoo Exhibition Committee. The innovative power of the exhibitors with their many new products and improvements also contributed to the good mood at the exhibition. This year's new products at Interzoo came particularly from the high-tech, health and sustainability segments. In the pet food segment, the exhibitors showed many new developments and improvements in food supplements, dietary food and special food, for example, for animals allergic to certain foods. The exhibitors in the aquaria and terraria segments presented modern technologies such as special energy-saving lights and heating lamps.
